TORONTO — Loblaws has confirmed that it is closing its popular T&T Supermarket in Scarborough, after employees were informed Friday.
“The decision to close this store was not an easy one, as we have a long history in the community and we value our customers and employees there,” said T&T Marketing Manager Paul Ho in a statement to Global News.
“The closure of our Milliken Store will allow us to focus our resources where they are most needed.”
The news comes after Loblaw Co. Ltd. said in July that it plans to close 52 of its unprofitable stores across the country over the next year.
Loblaw did not disclose specific locations or the number of employees who would be affected.
