LETHBRIDGE — Office spaces, businesses and schools across the city dressed and decorated in pink Friday to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
The annual event has been hosted by the Breast Cancer Society of Canada since 1997, raising over $7 million since then.
Manager of 1st Choice Savings Branch, Denise Clarke, said she chose to decorate the branch in pink because of the personal connection her family has to cancer.
“Wherever you’ve got a disease where it’s affected so many people, not just breast cancer, but personally I was affected in my family by cancer,” . “[Dress for the Cause] is very near and dear to my heart.”
Lethbridge has participated in all 18 years of the event.
