WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers returned to the practice field on Tuesday with just a couple of days of practice to prepare for the Ottawa RedBlacks on Friday.

The Bombers victory over the B.C. Lions has Winnipeg tied for the final playoff spot. They also have the edge over the Lions in a possible tiebreaker, but the Bombers have only three games remaining and both the Lions and the Montreal Alouettes have a game in hand.

“We’re still approaching this as a playoff game,” Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said. “You know that mentality that we want to win this game, we want to prepare extremely hard and we think it’s vital. I mean I don’t think we’ve gotten out of the woods at all. We’ve just sorta put ourselves in a position that with some more wins we can actually control our own destiny.”

Receiver Rory Kohlert was back at practice on Tuesday after leaving Saturdays game with an injury. Offensive lineman Dominic Picard was also forced out of the game but he did not practice and his status for Friday is still up in the air. Matthias Goossen would start in his place at centre if Picard is unable to play.
