CALGARY – Homicide detectives have identified Calgarian Christa Cachene, 26, as the woman found dead in a Ranchlands Bay home on Sunday.
Police said Cachene was a mother of two children who lived with her at the northwest home, but the children weren’t home at the time of her death.
An autopsy is underway for Cachene, who police said was identified by family members.
Police were called to the 0-100 block of Ranchlands Bay N.W. at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, where they found Cachene’s body.
WATCH: Calgary Police Service Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm updates the investigation into the death of Christa Cachene in Ranchlands.
Police said Tuesday Cachene was hosting a party at the home on Saturday night, and also received reports of a car prowling in the area early Sunday morning. It’s unknown if the incidents are related.
Neighbours told Global News Monday they could hear a party or some kind of verbal altercation Saturday night. Police believe eight to 12 people were at the party, at least some of which were friends of the victim. Chisholm said not all people who attended the party have been cooperative with police so far.

“It just sounded like loud, angry shouting–sounded like young men’s voices…Saturday night around eleven,” said area resident Ralph Adams.
Police said they had been called to the residence before on “unrelated matters” but didn’t elaborate on how many times or for what reason.
