CALGARY – Police have found the vehicle believed to be used in a potentially deliberate hit-and-run on Thursday.
It happened in the 1500 block of 4 Street S.W. at around 10 a.m., as several men were walking eastbound on 15 Avenue.
Witnesses reported seeing a verbal altercation take place between the men and the occupants of a sedan.
“It is believed that following the altercation, a dark-coloured sedan returned and struck the victim before fleeing the scene,” said a Thursday police news release.
EMS rushed the victim, a man in his 20s, to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
One witness stayed behind and is cooperating with investigators, but the others left before police arrived.
Officers were searching for an older model grey or black sedan in connection to the incident. Police later recovered a car nearby which they believe may be the one involved.
The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or call Crime Stoppers.
