WHITBY, Ont. — Durham Regional Police say 55-year-old George May was found in Toronto and escorted to a local hospital for a medical assessment.
They say he left the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, Ont., on Saturday morning.
May was charged with second-degree murder for strangling a woman and was found not criminally responsible in 2002.
It isn’t the first time May has gone missing — in 2012 he went missing from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto but returned on his own the next day.
