MONTREAL — Focus Montreal introduces Montrealers to people who are shaping our community, bringing their stories into focus.
It airs on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and at midnight.
Take a look at who we’re meeting this week on Focus Montreal:
Federal election 2015
National reporter Mike Le Couteur tells Jamie Orchard about what to expect from Global News’ coverage of the 2015 federal elections.
From coast to coast, the national team is tacking issues that affect not only the country as a whole, but also the individual provinces – including the good, the bad and the ugly.
Goldbloom Awards
On October 8, the Quebec Community Groups Network will mark the seventh anniversary of the Sheila and Victor Goldbloom Distinguished Community Service Award.
Four new laureates will be honoured for their community service.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the new Young Quebecers Leading the Way Award to Alexander Gordon, 28, who has been a volunteer for more than 20 years.
Skateboards for hope
Betty Esperanza is a Westmount mother of two, but she is also known as the godmother of skateboarding after she founded Skateboards for Hope.
The charity collects donated skateboards and gives them to children in need in Kanasatake, Cuba, Uganda and the Dominican Republic.
The idea is for kids in disadvantaged communities to have an opportunity to be part of a safe and united community.
