MONTREAL – Thanks to information from the public,  Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers were able to identify  a green commercial truck that may have been involved in a fatal accident in St-Flavien on Friday night.

Police were called to the scene of the accident involving a motorcycle at around 7:35 p.m. on Route 271 in St-Flavien in the Chaudières-Appalaches region.

The rider, a woman in her thirties, was unconscious when emergency crews arrived. She was transported to hospital where she was later declared dead.

It was initially thought that the woman lost control of her motorcycle but the SQ continue to investigate the possibility that she was struck by an object.

The victim was part of a convoy, including two other motorcyclists.

Police say the trio were following a commercial truck carrying wood and  it appears that the truck may have lost some of its load, striking the rider.
