WINNIPEG – If you’re looking for something to do in Winnipeg this weekend, you don’t have to look much further than downtown.
The first annual Rib Fest by Rotary Club kicked off Saturday at The Forks.
Live music and entertainment along with BBQ food and drinks will be available at Festival Field until 11:00 p.m. and again all day Sunday, starting at 11:00 a.m.
All of the proceeds from the event are for the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club to support inner city youth. The goal is to raise $30,000.
“Focusing on the youth really is a critical piece in making sure that Winnipeg stays healthy,” Eva Vida, the co-chair of Rob Fest said. ” We want to provide opportunities for those children who don’t get to do all the things that we take for granted.”
The seventh annual Chinatown Street Festival started Friday turning King Street between James Ave. and Alexander Ave. into a cultural distract.
The event features musicals, traditional dancing and even Kung Fu demonstrations all weekend.
Two movies will be shown on a big screen at 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Saturday. There is also a night market opening at 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. each night.
