Air quality advisory in place for much of Saskatchewan

Kim Smith/Global News

REGINA – Environment Canada has issued an air quality advisory for much of Saskatchewan; extending from the province’s southern border up to the La Ronge area.

Smoke from forest fires burning in the northwestern United States is expected to reduce air quality and visibility over the weekend.

The agency advises people to be aware of potential health concerns such as temporary irritation of the eyes and throat, and shortness of breath.

Environment Canada says that due to variable conditions the advisory will be in effect until further notice.
