Okanagan forecast: cooling down this weekend

Weather update: Thursday, August 27, 2015 4:15pm

Some improvement in visibility allowed for greater daytime heating and as a result areas near Penticton peaked in the low 30’s for a high Thursday.  Visibility at the Penticton airport changed from 5 km near noon to 16 km at 3pm Thursday afternoon.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Our visibility will continue to improve as winds help to clear out the smoke. When the weather pattern changes significantly this weekend, the smoke will be gone but the clouds and the showers will arrive.

Expect increasing cloud Friday  ahead of a weather system that will push into the Southern Interior this weekend.

Temps will be in the upper teens or low 20’s this weekend under a cool airmass and we will see showers on and off for the next few days.
