WINNIPEG – Commuters will no longer have to “waste quality time” when stuck waiting for a train at Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue, Conservative MP Joyce Bateman says.
Up to $91.8 million in federal-provincial funds will pay for an underpass at Waverley Street, Bateman announced Thursday.
An estimated 30,000 vehicles and roughly 40 trains pass through the intersection each day.

The project includes an underpass, reconstruction of Waverley Street between Wilkes Avenue and Taylor Avenue and the twinning of 1.2 kilometres of Taylor Avenue.
The City of Winnipeg has committed $63.3 million to the project but Mayor Brian Bowman could not say when construction would begin.
