CALGARY -A proposed cell tower in Bowness has some residents in the northwest community up in arms.
Plans call for the tower to be built in a vacant lot behind Angel’s Drive-in on 47 Avenue.

That would put in in the middle of a residential area – just steps from the nearest home.
Some residents are worried about potential radiation, despite promises to encase the antenna, and they would prefer to see the tower built at a nearby dog park.
A petition opposing the cell tower has a few hundred signatures so far.
