WINNIPEG — Water rescue crews responded to a call of a body in the Assiniboine River shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Teams pulled the body out of the river underneath the Maryland Bridge near the Misericordia Health Centre around 8:45 p.m.
Winnipeg police said Thursday they had recovered a man’s body and foul play wasn’t expected.
