WINNIPEG — Family, friends and supporters gathered at Calvary Temple to remember 11-year-old Teresa Robinson on Monday night.
Robinson was found dead in a forested area of Garden Hill First Nation on May 11. Community members originally said it appeared a bear had mauled the young girl who was missing for six days.

RCMP announced on May 15 that foul play was suspected and Robinson’s death was being investigated as a homicide.
No one has been arrested and authorities are still searching for answers into the young girl’s death.
Community representatives say it was important to hold the memorial Monday evening for members of the First Nation who can’t leave Winnipeg to attend the funeral at Garden Hill because of medical conditions.
Garden Hill First Nation sits roughly 500 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg.
