WINNIPEG — He had already received an invite to attend Winnipeg Blue Bombers training camp but now he’ll do so on his first professional contract.
The Blue Bombers announced that they’ve signed Manitoba Bisons’ quarterback Jordan Yantz and he’ll compete for a spot at Bombers training camp at his natural position.
“Jordan is going to come in and compete for a spot on our roster at quarterback,” said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters in a media release. “We feel he has shown all the tools needed to play this position at the professional level, and we look forward to watching him compete in camp.”
Yantz played the last two seasons with the University of Manitoba and last year appeared in six games, completing 111 of his 197 passes for 1619 yards with ten touchdowns.
Yantz attended B.C. Lions training camp in 2013 as a junior and he also participated in Blue Bombers training camp in 2014.
