Regina police arrest 11 in relation to drugs, trafficking

REGINA – Eleven people have been taken into custody on 46 possession and trafficking related charges following two separate drug busts in Regina on Thursday night.

A two-month investigation led Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team and RPS Patrol and Canine to conduct two searches, which resulted in the seizure of drugs, weapons and proceeds of crime.

The first search was of a residence in the 1500 block of 6th Avenue North and a nearby vehicle. Investigators found three large bundles of Canadian currency along with quantities of cocaine, marijuana and hashish, a loaded handgun and various drug-trafficking paraphernalia. Two men and a woman were arrested.

They are:

25-year-old Tyrell Charles Nelson Jones, 23-year-old Mohammed Ilyaas Badal, and 21-year-old Daryian Madison Taylor Goodwin, all of Regina.

Police also searched a residence in the 300 block of Garnet Street.  One man fled from police but was apprehended by a canine team.  A number of people inside the house were also taken into custody and are facing numerous drug related charges.

They are:

  • 23-year-old Keyono M. Anaquod of Regina
  • 20-year-old Kaleem Darian Reed Brass of Regina,
  • 21-old Jacob Jeffrey Hagley of Regina,
  • 20-old Jordan Joseph Lylyk of Regina,
  • 20-old Trenton Jeffrey Pelletier of Regina,
  • 19-old Justin Adam Schoenthal of Regina,
  • 21 year-old Ibambe, Apusi Wakaijuka of Grand Coulee, and
  • 19-old Jacob Alexander Wasacase of Regina.

Police also seized cocaine and marijuana.
