Province breaks ground on new French immersion school

WINNIPEG — The province has broken ground on a new school in northwest Winnipeg.

Ecole Riviere Rouge will be a French immersion school for kindergarten to Grade 5 as well as have childcare spaces.

The 50,744 square foot school will have room initially for 400 students and can expand to 550 if needed.

It will cost $20 million and serve the areas of Riverbend, Rivergrove, Riverridge, West St.Paul, West Kildonan and Garden City.
