Charges laid after woman reported stabbed inside Langdon bakery

CALGARY – RCMP have arrested one man after a woman was reported stabbed inside a bakery in the hamlet of Langdon on Thursday.

The victim, a woman in her 50’s, was attacked around 6:30 a.m. RCMP won’t confirm she was stabbed, only that a serious assault occurred.

The manager of Botsford Delicatessen says the victim is an employee who works at the business as a baker.

“It’s a small town, so we’re all close,” says Laura Koltusky. “My employee, she means a lot to me.”

She was found by a customer who called 911.

“She’s a wonderful lady… friendly and outgoing. Looks after the customers really well.”

Emergency crews rushed her to hospital in Calgary; EMS spokesperson Adam Loria said the woman was in stable condition with “serious traumatic injuries.”
