WINNIPEG – The city shut down a major street in Osborne Village Friday afternoon after the appearance of a sink hole.

Stradbrook Avenue between Wellington crescent and Nassau street are closed for emergency pavement repairs, it’s not clear for how long.

That stretch of Stradbrook is about 180 metres long.

In a news release late Friday afternoon the city said the pavement on that part of Stradbrook had been repaired earlier this year after a water main break.

“Traffic will be diverted from northbound Wellington Crescent east onto Wardlaw Avenue then north on Nassau Street back to Stradbrook Avenue around the closure,” the city statement said Friday.
