TORONTO — A day after Angelina Jolie went public with her decision to have her ovaries removed, TV personality Kelly Osbourne said she plans to do the same.

“I actually do have the cancer gene,” Osbourne, 30, said on Tuesday’s episode of The Talk.

“I know that one day I will eventually have to do it too because if I have children, I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can.”

Osbourne said she supports Jolie’s decision “100 per cent.”

Jolie revealed she had preventative surgery recently to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes — two years after she chose to have a double mastectomy.

Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002 and later found out she carried BRCA1, the same gene as Jolie. She decided to have a double mastectomy as a preventative measure.

“My mom made all of us get tested after she found out that she had it,” her daughter said Tuesday.

Osbourne, the daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and TV personality Sharon Osbourne, said Jolie’s revelation will help others.

“People are now going to go out and get tested for it,” she said.
