Suspect strips down, falls asleep in bizarre home invasion

TORONTO – A brutal home invasion in Las Vegas, Nevada last week took a bizarre turn after the suspect decided to strip down and take a little nap inside the home he had just broken into.

Las Vegas police say a man broke into a family home last Thursday via an unlocked door in the garage.

He found an elderly man lying in his bed, and brutally assaulted him.

Badly beaten, the elderly man went running for help to one of his relatives.

“He told me ‘Someone came in my room, knocked me out of the bed, and he started beating me up on the floor,’” one of the elderly man’s relatives, who wished to remain anonymous, told News 3 in Las Vegas.

“From his arm all the way up to his shoulder was soaked in blood. The shirt was even dropping blood.”

When police arrived a short time later, they made a bizarre discovery: the suspect had stripped down to his underwear and was taking a nap on the elderly man’s bed.

“He was just lying in there as if it was his house, with his legs wide open,” the relative said. “And he just had his boxers on. He had [taken] off his pants, made himself at home.”

There’s no word yet on who the sleepy home invader is, or what his motives are. However, Las Vegas police say the suspect is also accused of attacking someone else early Thursday morning.

As for the victim, he suffered a fractured arm and shoulder, and had some bruising on his head. He is recovering in a Las Vegas-area hospital.
