Man charged in Arizona shootings appears before judge

MESA, Ariz. – The man charged in a rampage in Arizona that killed one person and wounded five others has made his first appearance before a judge.

A handcuffed Ryan Giroux on Thursday heard the many charges against him, including murder and attempted murder.

A prosecutor asked that bond be set at $2 million for what he called a “spree of multiple serious offences.”

The judge set a court date for next week.

Giroux’s face was bruised because police said he struggled with officers as he resisted arrest.
