Single car accident on Highway 1 claims three lives

VANCOUVER – Three young men died following a single car accident west of Hope early Friday morning.

RCMP say the accident happened around 4 a.m. when a westbound car the trio was travelling in, left the Trans-Canada Highway and crashed into the Hunter Creek Weigh scale building.

Police are not releasing any further details at this time about how the accident happened.

A passing truck driver noticed the collision and contacted RCMP.

Fire and emergency crews arrived on the scene and found the three men dead in the wreckage of the car. They have now been identified as Bradley Webb, 20 and from Hope, Devan Alexander Neil King-Peters, 19 and from Chilliwack and Phillip Morgan Peters Jr, 18 and from Hope.

Webb was driving and the other two were passengers in the car. All three died at the scene.

The Trans-Canada Highway is now open in both directions.

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Fraser Valley Traffic Services at 604-702-4039.
