When they arrived, crews found the house completely engulfed in flames.

It appears the blaze may have started in the garage; neighbours reported hearing a loud “bang” before spotting the fire.

Originally, there was some concern over three other residents that were unaccounted for and could potentially have been inside the house. However, it was eventually discovered that the missing people were not home during the fire.

Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to any neighbouring homes, but say the house where the fire originated sustained substantial damage.

“The crews hit it hard and contained it, and actually got the fire out fairly quickly,” explained Battalion Chief Al Magwood. “There is extensive damage to the exterior of the house though, and some of the floors are compromised.”
