EDMONTON — A kindergarten-aged boy walked away with a few bruises after being knocked over by a school bus on Monday morning outside a school in southeast Edmonton.

The child was in a marked crosswalk near Holy Family school in Mill Woods around 8:30 a.m., when a school bus bumped his backpack.

The impact caused the child to fall down, but he was not injured enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. According to Lori Nagy with Edmonton Catholic Schools, paramedics on scene treated the boy for some bumps.

Police were called to the scene, and are investigating.
