MONTREAL – Students at Evergreen Elementary in St-Lazare have taken a page out of Disney’s Frozen and built their very own ice castle for their Carnival week.
All 351 students were asked to fill a 2L milk or juice carton with coloured water and freeze the carton for a minimum of 3 days.
Six of the grade six students and nine volunteers got together Tuesday morning to start building the castle.
Throughout the day, each younger grade was individually called outside to add their blocks.
Just over 400 ice blocks were used.
Other activities at the school’s winter carnival include crazy hat day, hockey jersey day, a hockey game with three-time Olympian gold medal winner Charline Labonte, backwards day and pajama day.
