Metro Vancouver woman’s soaps included in Oscars gift baskets

WATCH:  It’s the public relations dream of any business: get your product into the hands of the rich, famous and powerful. By that standard, a Metro Vancouver woman has hit the jackpot… With her own personal connection to the Oscars. Jennifer Palma has the story.

Corina Nuessler of Corsus Body Care may not have taken home an Oscar Sunday, but she certainly felt like a winner after the 2015 Academy Awards.

Her line of soap products were included in the gift baskets given to celebrities ahead of this year’s Oscars.

A few weeks ago, Nuessler got a phone call that changed her life.

“Somebody bought a bunch of soap and gave it to one of her girlfriends and a business card,” she says. “She tried the soap and said it was phenomenal and phoned us and asked if we wanted to be givers into the swag bags.”

Nuessler and her assistant quickly assembled 150 bars that were presented to celebrities the day before the big show.

Nuessler says what makes her soap special is that it’s natural and chemical-free. She developed the soaps after her mother and grandmother battled skin cancer.

In just couple of days, she has had hundreds of inquiries and sales have gone up 150 per cent. A potential investor has contacted her.

“When I started this, all I dreamed of doing of was this,” she says. “Now it’s coming true.”
