At 7:15am we’ll tell you about an event happening at Alderney Landing Tuesday night that  will celebrate Nova Scotia’s cultural connection to Africa. “Freedom of the Drum” will highlight the music of Africa along with raising money for the efforts of a few local organizations doing meaningful work in ten African countries.

Ten years ago, The Orb Factory introduced the educational toy Sticky Mosaics.   Now, the award-winning craft kits are sold in more than 60 countries .   We chat with Stephanie Carver about The Orb Factory’s success – and  take a look at what’s new.

At 8:15 we talk to a local farm that is taking maple syrup to a whole new level. The folks at Hutchinson Farms in the Valley stop by to show off their new PURE infused maple syrup that puts all that delicious goodness in a bottle, infused with all-natural ingredients like vanilla, lavender, cinnamon, and chipotle. We’ll get the story behind this new twist and fire up the toaster oven for a FOODIE TUESDAY cooking demo.

And at 8:45 we meet a local dog lover who is out to change people’s attitudes towards pit bulls. Candice Scott and her dog Capone will stop by to talk about the negative stereotypes around the breed and the recent popularity of her Instagram account dealing with the issue. The instagram stars have over 32000 followers and are working to change people’s minds toward the breed daily.
