On the night of the Academy Awards, there were no last-minute Hollywood drama for the Vancouver Canucks against the New York Islanders.

Just a pedestrian, straight forward win.

Vancouver scored three of its goals in the second period and Ryan Miller and Eddie Lack combined for the shutout in a 4-0 win.

The win, Vancouver’s fifth in seven games, came in the middle of a five-game road trip, their second longest of the year.

The game wasn’t all good news however, as Ryan Miller left in the second period with what appeared to be a leg injury after a collision with Jannik Hansen. His condition is unknown.

The Canucks got on the board 28 seconds into the second period on a powerplay goal by Zack Kassian.
