U.S. network pilots landing in B.C. in March

TORONTO — A number of U.S. network pilots are landing in Vancouver next month.

Supernatural dramas Breed and Dead People, family dramedy Mix are among the series pilots scheduled to be produced in B.C. in March.

Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) will star in the pilot for Flesh and Blood from producer Jenna Bans (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy).

It focuses on the return of a politician’s son, who disappeared and was presumed dead over a decade earlier. Gilford will play the boy’s older brother.

The pilot for ABC will shoot from March 12 to 26.

Breed, for cable channel TNT, stars Canadian actor Justin Chatwin (Shameless), Aisha Hinds (Under the Dome) and German actress Nadia Hilker.

It focuses on the investigation into brutal murders in Washington State by mysterious beings. Cameras will roll March 1 to 20.

Dead People, from Californication creator Tom Kapinos, follows a cab driver who develops the ability to communicate with ghosts after a near-death experience.

Casting details for The CW pilot have not been announced. It is scheduled to shoot from March 18 to April 7.

ABC’s Mix is an hour-long pilot about a multi-cultural family running a restaurant. It was written by Jennifer Cecil (Private Practice) and counts actress Rashida Jones (The Office) among its executive producers.

Casting details have not been announced. Cameras are set to roll March 12 to 31.

Toronto is hosting production of pilots for a Fox series based on the feature film Minority Report (shooting March 13 to 30) starring Daniel London and Li Jun Li and for the NBC martial arts drama Warrior starring Lance Gross, Will Yun Lee and Natalie Martinez (March 9 to April 2).
