TORONTO — A pilot for the TV adaptation of the 2002 Tom Cruise movie Minority Report will be made in Toronto.

In the movie, directed by Steven Spielberg and set in Washington, D.C. in 2054, a special police unit hunted down and arrested killers before they committed their crimes. Cruise played an officer accused of a future murder.

The proposed Minority Report TV series — which has the working title Templeton — picks up a decade after the movie ended. The “Pre-crime” unit has disbanded and one of its members is struggling to live a normal life while having visions of the future. He partners with a female detective who’s haunted by her past.
