Okanagan forecast: mild long weekend

Weather update: Friday February 6th 4:45pm

The coastal mountains are doing a good job keeping the rain from the Pineapple Express on the coast, and only isolated showers are expected from now through most of the weekend. Breaks of sun are also possible Saturday and Sunday. The mild air, however, has had no problem moving into our valley, and it will stay mild through the weekend with freezing levels close to 2000m.

There is still some uncertainty about a system that will be crossing the region late Sunday and Monday. At this time, the track of the system is forecast to bring us a greater chance of showers by Sunday evening and into Family Day Monday.

More details coming up at 5, 6:30 and 11pm!

Saturday’s daytime high range: 5 to 10C
Sunday’s daytime high range: 4 to 9C
