WINNIPEG — Three teens are in custody following a bizarre home invasion in Southdale.

On Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. police say a group of three teens broke into a home in the 800 block of Beaverhill Boulevard. A 13-year old girl who was home at the time called her older brother for help.

When the 16-year old brother arrived one suspect was still inside the home. After finding his sister unharmed he armed himself with a knife and confronted the 15-year old suspect who was armed with a hammer.

During the altercation the brother was pepper sprayed and the suspect was stabbed a number of times in the upper body.

The suspect managed to flee on foot. He was picked up by the other two suspects and brought to hospital.

The three teens are facing multiple robbery and weapons related charges.
