SASKATOON – A Saskatchewan RCMP officer is facing impaired driving charges after a collision last summer just outside of Wollaston Lake. Const. Kevin Granrude, 44, was injured on June 10 when the ATV he was riding early that morning rolled after navigating a curve.
Granrude, who was off-duty at the time and riding an RCMP ATV, was taken to a Saskatoon hospital with a serious head injury. He has since recovered and had returned to work at the Swift Current rural detachment.

Following an investigation, Granrude was charged on Jan. 8 with impaired driving and driving over .08. He is scheduled to appear in Wollaston Lake court on Feb. 11.
Along with the criminal charges, Granrude will undergo an internal code of conduct investigation. He has over nine years of experience on the force.
Mounties say since criminal charges have been laid and the matter is before the courts, they are limited in releasing additional details.
