Red Deer man shot in attempted homicide, police search for suspects

EDMONTON – Red Deer RCMP are searching for a number of suspects after a man was shot in what investigators are calling a targeted attack.

Emergency responders were called to an apartment building in downtown Red Deer at about 1 a.m. Thursday. A 32-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The RCMP says a number of suspects have been identified in connection to the attempted homicide and police are looking for them. Investigators say the pubic is not at risk.

The victim’s injury is not believed to be life-threatening as he remains in hospital in stable condition.
