MONTREAL — Since the start of the winter season, Longueuil police said they have issued a number of courtesy notices to drivers parked in streets where snow removal operations were taking place.

However, that courtesy period is now over, and vehicle owners could receive a $43 ticket if they don’t move their cars.

Concerned that residents who are not moving their vehicles are affecting the effectiveness of snow removal in the city, the police are asking residents to pay close attention to snow removal notices — and move their cars.

“Snow removal operation notices are published every day before 5 p.m.,” the police said in a statement.

“Citizens have a responsibility to find out more by visiting the city’s website, longueuil.ca, its Facebook page, its Twitter account or by dialling 3-1-1.”
