HALIFAX – Police have arrested a man who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Halifax on New Year’s Day.
Shane Robinson, 23, was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon in Dartmouth and charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and disguise with intent.
He will appear in Halifax court on Thursday.
At 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 1, a man entered a Petro Canada station on Quinpool Road, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the employee.
The man fled on foot and police were unable to locate him. Police issued an arrest warrant for Robinson on Jan. 5.
The employee involved in the incident was not injured.
