Man, 68, still unaccounted for in house fire

WATCH: Officials are still looking for the man who owned the home that burned down in a three-alarm fire overnight. Angie Seth reports.

TORONTO – Fire officials say a 68-year-old man is still unaccounted for after a three-alarm blaze at a Toronto home.

Fire crews were called around 7 a.m. Thursday to the north-end residence on Camwood Crescent near Don Mills and York Mills roads.

Toronto Fire Division Commander Andrew Kostiuk said relatives of the man told them he lived alone at the house.

Kostiuk said a preliminary search didn’t turn up any sign of the man.

He said the fire broke out in the basement, where crews are focusing their search.

Kostiuk said the first floor collapsed and that heavy machinery will be brought in so firefighters can access the basement.
