Mounties searching for man in alleged weapons offence

Mounties are asking for help in identifying a suspect involved in an alleged firearm pointing incident on Nov. 29.

Surrey RCMP responded to the area of 152nd Street and 20th Avenue on Nov. 29 after receiving a report of a weapons offence. When police arrived at the scene, an 18-year-old female said she was walking home from a friend’s house when an unknown male pointed a black handgun at her and told her not to run. The teen quickly walked away and ran southbound on 152nd Street before heading to her home.

A composite sketch has been released by RCMP. The suspect is described as South Asian male, in his early 30’s, about 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall with short black hair and stubble on his face. He was wearing a black trench coat, black shoes, and possibly jeans.

Police are continuing their investigation but asks anyone with information about the incident to contact Surrey RCMP.
