RCMP already busy pulling over impaired drivers

CALGARY- At around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, Airdrie RCMP pulled over an impaired driver whose breath samples were more than double the legal limit.

A 43-year-old man driving a Nissan Versa south on Highway 2 was pulled over by RCMP for speeding. Police clocked his speed at more than 160km/h.

The driver of the Nissan is from Edmonton and was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Airdrie RCMP Detachment for breath testing.

He also had outstanding warrants, open liquor in the vehicle, the vehicle itself is unregistered and appears to be uninsured.

The driver faces numerous charges.
