CALGARY- Six people will have to find somewhere else to sleep Wednesday night after a fire forced them to flee their home in Abbeydale.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 900 block of Abbeydale Drive N.E. shortly after 2 p.m. All six people inside, along with a dog and cat, were able to get to safety before crews arrived.

The fire was confined to one room and crews were able to put it out quickly, but there’s extensive smoke damage throughout the home.

Investigators were still trying to determine the cause.
