Santa’s getting his mail, he’s checking it twice

WINNIPEG – Santa Claus is ready to receive letters from both the naughty and nice.

Canada Post has helped deliver Santa’s mail for 33 years, and 2014 is no different. Staff will be busy delivering over 2,200 mailbags full of letters to the big man himself before Christmas this year.

With a staff of over 6,000 postal elves at the ready to help Santa take on the task, Canadian’s can confidently send their gift lists and mail to the North Pole, knowing that their letter will have a response.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Whether it’s written in another language, or even Braille, Santa will be sure to get back to everyone on his list.

Since the national program began, Santa and his elves have answered over 23 million letters. Laid end to end, it’s around 3,850 kilometres long – almost as far as it takes to ride your reindeer and sleigh from Winnipeg to the North Pole.
