Man breaks into unlocked Riversdale residence

SASKATOON – An armed man broke into an unlocked Riversdale home Friday morning, one day after Saskatoon police issued a warning about break and enters into open or unlocked homes.

In the latest break-in, a man with a gun entered an unlocked rear porch door in the 300-block of Avenue E South. He then forced his way into the rest of the house.

A woman was home at the time and chased the man out the back door. She was not injured and nothing was taken.

The man, was tracked to the 400-block of Avenue F South but was not located.

Police are looking for a man in his mid-50’s with thinning blond hair, blond/white trimmed beard and a thin build. He had dirty fingernails and cigarette stained fingers.

On Thursday, police said 43 per cent of break-ins that happened between Oct. 6 and Nov. 2 were through open or unsecured doors and windows.
