The Hepatitis Outreach Society of Nova Scotia is celebrating 15 years of raising awareness in our region and they’re doing so in a really unique way. Be on the lookout for the HepNS truck making the rounds in Halifax on Wednesday with their liver mascot in tow. It’s all part of the love your liver campaign and it kicks off at 6:45 on our show with an interview with Executive Director Carla Densmore.

Tis the season to strike a pose! At 7:15 we’ll have the first in our Home for the Holidays series and we’ll kick it off with some tips on how to best prepare your kids to take the perfect photo with Santa! It’s not always a walk in the park when kids get the chance to meet Santa face-to-face so we’ll provide parents with some advice on how to help them get over their fears!

At 7:45 we’ll learn more about a Halifax film festival with a focus outside the bubble. The 2nd Outlier Film Festival runs this weekend and features genres of cult, fantasy, sceience fiction, and horror pop among others. Matt Charlton will stop with a preview of the films that aim to challenge, delight and disturb.

At 8:15 we’ll tell you about a lovely fundraising event that will help to get you into the spirit of the season. The Phoenix Nutcracker Luncheon is a moving experience celebrating joy and hope with performances by the Phoenix Community Choir and Symphony Nova Scotia. Proceeds raised will help support Phoenix Youth Programs.

We’ll continue our Fitness Week coverage at 8:45 with a look at a new space in Halifax designed to get kids active. Hop Skip Jump Indoor Play Space is Nova Scotia’s largest indoor play area of its kind and has a lot of great activities that are sure to keep your kids fit and active!
