Horse shot in central Alberta, RCMP investigate

RCMP are appealing for tips from the public after a horse was shot in a pasture near the town of Two Hills, northeast of Calgary and 140 kilometres east of Edmonton.

Police believe it happened sometime between November 13 and 15.

The horse was shot in its torso by a small calibre weapon – it was injured but not killed.

People in the area had spotted someone shooting from the road in a dark-coloured pickup truck.

Causing injury to animals carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
