TORONTO — It’s got Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Iron Man — and plenty of not-so-subtle plugs for Samsung.
An extended trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron went online Thursday and it offers fans more action and more hints about what to expect.
“There’s only one path to peace — your extinction,” Ultron (voiced by James Spader) declares.
The trailer also shows Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) holding a Samsung tablet and an action sequence in front of a Samsung store.
In June, Samsung and Marvel — the Disney-owned studio behind Avengers — announced a global partnership that will “integrate their brands in unique and creative ways.”
The brand placement is a little awkward for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who was seen using LG products in the first two Iron Man movies.
In addition to Downey and Johansson, Avengers 2 stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Andy Serkis, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen.
It follows 2012’s The Avengers, which grossed a whopping $1.5 billion worldwide. Plans are already in place to release Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 in 2018 and Part 2 in 2019.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron opens May 1, 2015.
