WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man has been charged with defrauding six women he met online and briefly dated.

Kevin James Alderton, 37, used a dating website to meet women with whom he had brief relationships, during which he’d get their banking information, police allege.

He is accused of then writing cheques he couldn’t cover, depositing them in the women’s accounts and withdrawing the money.
