Surrey RCMP need help identifying restaurant stabbing suspect

Surrey RCMP have released surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection with a double stabbing at a restaurant.

The suspect entered through the back doors of the Wings restaurant on King George Boulevard in Newton Sunday afternoon.

When confronted by employees, he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed two staff members before running out of the restaurant through the back door.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the victims, the restaurant’s kitchen manager, told Global News he was just inches away from being murdered. Both of his hands were slashed. He was also stabbed in his stomach and shoulder.

RCMP describe the man as in his late thirties to early forties, approximately 5-foot-11 with a large build.

He was also wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat.
