Big Brother hopefuls try out in Regina

The hit TV show Big Brother Canada made a pit-stop in the Queen City on Friday to host open casting calls at the Queensbury Convention Centre.

REGINA – The hit TV show Big Brother Canada made a pit-stop in the Queen City on Friday to host open casting calls at the Queensbury Convention Centre.

Hundreds of hopefuls from all over the province lined up outside as early as 5:30 a.m. strategizing how they would sell themselves to the producers as the best possible houseguest to be chosen for season three.

This is the first year that the Big Brother casting crew has been to Regina – In the last two seasons there has yet to be a contestant from Saskatchewan. This year the producers are hoping to change that.

“We want really competitive people, we have never had anyone from Saskatchewan on the show and we came here for a reason… I want to leave with someone from this place to be on the show, that would be awesome,” said Ashley Dickinson, casting producer for Big Brother Canada.

Dickinson said they will be looking for a really great personality, a competitive streak and strategic game play.

“I love the female competitors who want to win competitions and go for it! I think you really need to size up your competition, always be aware and observant of the people around you.”

If you were unable to make it to the casting call in Regina, there is still the option of going online to Big Brother Canada and submitting a short video that showcases your personality, the deadline is Nov. 24th.

Everyone who tried out on Friday could hear back from the producers as soon as this evening to find out if they move on to the next phase.
